Uniting surgeons and promoting resident education across Northeast Ohio since 1949.

About
THE SOCIETY.

Founded in 1949, the Cleveland Surgical Society was established to unite surgeons in Northeast Ohio and to advance surgical education in the years following World War II. From its earliest meetings, the Society has served as a forum for collaboration, continuing education, and the presentation of clinical and research work by surgeons and trainees alike. Over the decades, CSS has played a nationally recognized role in supporting graduate surgical education, resident research, and academic exchange.

Rooted in a tradition of scientific rigor and professional community, the Society remains dedicated to excellence in patient care, education, and research—a mission that continues to guide its work today.
